High Court Orders AG Baharav-Miara to Disclose Personal Ties to Shin Bet Leadership

Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg on Tuesday rejected Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara’s position and ordered her to submit an affidavit addressing serious allegations concerning her impartiality. The court directed her to detail the nature of her personal relationships with acting Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar and former head Nadav Argaman. The ruling follows a petition by the Lavi good governance group.

The petition contends that Baharav-Miara is unfit to oversee matters involving the two senior security officials due to their close ties with her husband, a former Shin Bet officer. Media reports indicate that both Bar and Argaman have maintained close personal relationships with the AG’s family, including frequent social visits and private meetings—connections that have never been publicly denied.
